Generic Name:

Imazethapyr Herbicide used for broadleaf and grassy weed control

Product Description:
Imazethapyr is a selective, systemic herbicide belonging to the imidazolinone group, used for broadleaf and grassy weed control in crops like soybean and groundnut by inhibiting the enzyme acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS).
Product Application:
Imazethapyr inhibits the enzyme AHAS, which is crucial for the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids, leading to disrupted protein synthesis and weed growth suppression.
It is absorbed by both roots and foliage and translocates within the plant, accumulating in meristematic regions.
Product Procedure:
Chemical Composition: Imazethapyr 10% SL.
Dosage: 400-600 ml/acre for groundnut, 400 ml/acre for soybean. Recommended rate, usually 0.5 to 1.5 liters per hectare (varies by crop and weed type).
Compatibility: Do not mix with fungicides or insecticides.
Product Note:
Uses:
Target Weeds: Effective against a wide range of grasses, broadleaf weeds, and sedges.
Target Crops: Commonly used in soybean, groundnut, pulses, and other leguminous crops.
Product Technical Specification:
CAS Number: 81335-77-5
Toxicity: Imazethapyr is a general use pesticide with a toxicity classification of III (slightly toxic).
Product pack size:

How to Use Imazethapyr Herbicide
Imazethapyr is a selective, systemic herbicide used to control broadleaf weeds and grasses in crops like soybeans, peanuts, and alfalfa. It works by inhibiting an essential enzyme (ALS) needed for weed growth.

Steps for Application:
Determine the Dosage:
Recommended rate, usually 0.5 to 1.5 liters per hectare (varies by crop and weed type).
Always check the product label for specific crop restrictions.

Prepare the Solution:
Fill the sprayer tank halfway with clean water.
Add the required amount of Imazethapyr while stirring.
If using a non-ionic surfactant (NIS), add 0.25% to 0.5% for better absorption.
Fill the rest of the tank with water and mix well.

Spraying Guidelines:

Apply using a boom sprayer or knapsack sprayer with a fine spray nozzle for even coverage.
Best applied when weeds are young and actively growing (2-5 leaf stage).
Avoid spraying during windy conditions to prevent drift onto non-target crops.

Post-Application Care:

Do not irrigate within 24 hours after spraying to allow absorption.
Observe the field for weed response within 7-14 days.
Follow crop rotation guidelines since Imazethapyr has residual soil activity.
Remarks:
Application: Applied as a post-emergence herbicide.
Key Features:
Systemic: Absorbed and translocated throughout the plant.
Residual Action: Provides longer-lasting weed control.
Broad Spectrum: Effective against both narrow and broadleaf weeds.
