Product Description: 
Caesium acetate used in organic synthesis. One example is in the Perkin synthesis: the formation of unsaturated cinnamic-type acids by the condensation of aromatic aldehydes with fatty acids. Replacement of the commonly used sodium acetate with caesium acetate has been shown to improve yields by up to 10 times.

One example is in the Perkin synthesis: the formation of unsaturated cinnamic-type acids by the condensation of Cesium acetate is used in organic synthesis especially in Perkin reaction to prepare unsaturated cinnamic-type acids. It is used in petroleum drilling fluids as an alternative to cesium formate. aromatic aldehydes with fatty acids. 

Product Procedure: 

 commercially available. Cesium acetate has been prepared by stirring a solution of cesium carbonate in dry methanol, followed by the addition of acetic acid. Methanol was removed after 1 h under reduced pressure to yield the desired product as a white solid

This is not so much due its molar solubility (only 5.26 M) but more due to its high molar weight. Caesium acetate is occasionally used instead of caesium formate in petroleum drilling fluids
