Product Application: 

RXSOL-54-1048-020  is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling.

If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonized oil, then first of all clean the system with degreaser  RXSOL-10-1005. RXSOL-54-1048-020 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 10-30%, depending on the extent of scaling. After using RXSOL-54-1048-020 ,  

PRECAUTION :::it is essential to thoroughly rinse all metal surfaces at least once with a 0.5% solution of  RXSO-20-2005  in fresh water. This solution should be circulated for 2-4 hours or until an acceptable pH value is obtained. This will neutralize any remaining acidity & passivate steel surfaces.

Product Procedure: 

After using  RXSOL-54-1048-020, sense all metal surfaces with 0.5 percent of  RXSOL-10-1005, at least 2-4 hour , up to neutral of PH value.

Product Technical Specification: 

Procedure-of-use: The most effective descaling is accomplished by circulation.In the case of small components,the soak method in an immersion bath can be used. If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease or sludge, then pre-cleaning with DEGREASER ( RXSOL OB 1005 ) is necessary. Depending on the extent of scaling, use a solution of 2.5-10% RXSOL-54-1008-025 . The solution will have a red colour which changes to orange when 85% of the acid has been neutralized , & to colourless  when the solution is totally neutralized. Whenever possible, the solution should be heated to 60°C.Neutralised  solutions can be re-activated by adding more RXSOL-54-1008-025  until the red colour reappears. 

Fields: Descaling of  Boilers, Descaling  of Diesel Engine Cooling Systems, Condenser, Pipeline collection system, Evaporators, Calorifiers, Heat Exchangers,The strength of the acid can be enhanced by adding 1part sodium chloride (common salt) to 20 parts of Descalex.If salt is not available, an acceptable alternative is to dissolve RXSOL-54-1008-025  in sea water. After use of RXSOL-54-1008-025  a  0.5% solution of Alkalinity Control in fresh  water should be used for neutralization.

How RXSOL SCALE DISSOLVER works?

Dissolution: RXSOL SCALE DISSOLVER reacts with scale to form a soluble compound that dissolves the scale.
Peeling: RXSOL SCALE DISSOLVER solution dissolves the oxide on the metal surface, breaking the bond with the scale.
Air enthalpy: The reaction with scale produces carbon dioxide gas, which can detach scale from heated surfaces. 
 
Dissolution: RXSOL SCALE DISSOLVER reacts with scale to form a soluble compound that dissolves the scale.
 

Chemical experiments on scale samples show that RXSOL SCALE DISSOLVER can effectively remove the scale of the cooler. Through the acid immersion test, it was found that RXSOL SCALE DISSOLVER can effectively remove the scale attached to the plate, and its corrosion effect on the cooler plate is also small.
 

Dirt in tubes of seawater side

White scales attached on the seawater side of air coolers of many vessels. We found that in most cases, the main component of the scales is calcium carbonate and there is also a small amount of calcium sulfate. Therefore in most cases, if you dissolve the calcium carbonate the scales will be removed.

However, if the amount of scales is large enough to block the tube, the cylindrical scale will usually have calcium carbonate on the outside (the side that is in contact with tube) and calcium sulfate in the center (part that seawater passes through). Calcium sulfate is easier to be formed when the temperature goes higher.

When the amount of scales increases, the contact area of scale and cleaner is very small and a longer time of dissolution is required. Calcium sulfate cannot be dissolved by an acid cleaner.

RXSOL-54-1048-020 is a powerful dissolving agent of calcium carbonate. Therefore, it is better to use RXSOL-54-1048-020  to do circulating cleaning at an early stage before the scales build up and block the tube, or regular cleaning is recommended as well. It is impossible to do a circulating cleaning when the tube is completely blocked.

Carbonaceous particles can be removed by alkaline cleaners and oil mist can be removed by oil based cleaners. However, it is very difficult to remove the mix of these substances. If you use an alkaline cleaner, oil will repel the water based alkaline cleaner; if you use oil based cleaner, carbonaceous particles will get in the way and stop oil from being removed.

This cleaners designed to remove both carbonaceous and oil simultaneously. An effective cleaning method is to immerse one side to remove the loose stains first, and then immerse the other side. This method can efficiently remove dirt and prevent swollen dirt peeled from fins from blocking the spaces between fins.

RXSOL-54-1048-020  Descaler has the ability to dissolve approximately 1.5kg of calcium carbonate scale per gallon in concentrated form. It does not need to be heated up during cleaning. The uniqueness of this Descaler allows you to clean some equipment while still in operation utilizing a minimum of your own personnel.

Why is Dismantling essential before CHEMICAL CLEANING operation ?
Dismantling of both ends and internal parts, separation from the recirculation chamber is most important, and before initiation leakage testing are common procedures for any tube heat exchangers.

Ans : Unexpected consequences can happen where tube walls have weakened due to long and continuous running and deposition of scale and water dissolved mineral chemical reaction.
